Everyone can enjoy the night sky full of sparkles and crackles if only it is safe. No doubt that adding fireworks into any event that light it up with more fun and excitement. However, it is recommended that you seek professional help when planning firework set off. Proper fields and land are required when you are arranging a health awareness event, a concert, or a lantern show. This happens after proper permits from the community as well as the landowner. If you are having a bonfire in your backyard or a BBQ party in your garden, and you want to set off fireworks in your garden, here is what you need to know.

What Is the Rule of Law?

Although no one should have the right to tell you what you do one your property, only as long as others are not disturbed. Your house is a part of a whole neighborhood. Government of the UK has created a tricot policy regarding firework display categories and timing. If your event has to go late night till 11 pm or more, you will have to get a permit to play songs and continue the feast. However, the fireworks should be displayed between 9-10 pm.

You have to make sure that the fireworks are set off in a manner that they don’t create any damage to neighborhood property. Another important thing is to choose a fireworks type. Only category 1 and 2 fireworks are allowed. If you need fireworks for wedding, you can use category 3 fireworks only handled by professionals. If you fail to comply with the set rules and regulations, you can get fined up to £5,000 or end up in jail.

There is some exception where you can extend the time from 7 pm till midnight. These exceptions are bonfire nights, New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Diwali, and Chinese New Year where you can continue the display show till 1 AM.

Categories Available for Fireworks

Following are the types of fireworks available in the market. You have to use only the category that is allowed:

1. Category One: Firecrackers, party poppers, cake fireworks, and bangers are category 1 fireworks that can be used indoors.
2. Category Two: These are adult fireworks that must be handled by above 18 people. These are allowed for garden fireworks.
3. Category Three and Four: These type of fireworks is strictly displayed with professional assistance. They are available at specialist suppliers.

Time When Fireworks Can Be Used or Bought

Fireworks are not being sold or used throughout the year. You are only allowed to buy fireworks from registered companies on the following dates or events:

1. From October 15 to November 10
2. From December 26 to 31
3. Three days before Diwali and Chinese New Year

Do I Need a License?

You don’t need a license to arrange and display fireworks. However, you must have a society permit for doing so in your neighborhood. For bigger events, only professionals are allowed to set up the fireworks and manage the complete show.
