Top 5 Tips for Caring Your School Uniform

There is a hack for almost everything, even clothes. Since uniform is the most important attire of the day, people try their level best to buy them in pairs and keep laundry maintenance on a weekly basis. The Castle Hill high school uniform consists of a blouse, skirt, frock, tights, pants, dress shirt, socks, coat and hoodie, there are special tricks for their laundry as well. Here are over 5 crucial steps for taking care of your uniform.

Follow the Instructions

Uniforms have labelled instructions on the tags of the clothes. Wash separately, iron the clothes at a specific temperature, tumble dry them and keep them away from harsh detergents. Similarly, you have to follow these basic points in keeping the uniform for a long period.

Separate the Clothes and Usage of Warm Water

Separate the two colours of clothes. Keep the white ones such as tights, socks, undergarments, skirts or blouses (if white) and the rest of the dark ones in another set. Once the pairing finishes put them in the washing machines with half a cup of washing powder or liquid detergent. Do not pour it in excess because it ruins the cloth fibres. Similarly, cold water can make the stains permanent. Go for warm water for easy washing as too hot can also ruin the texture and softness of the clothes.

Use Softeners

Softeners tend to smooth out the texture of uniforms. They help in soft washing and developing flexibility in the cloth fibres and threads. As detergents have cleansing agents, they make the uniforms rigid. Adding a quarter cap of cloth softener can soften the clothes and even add some fragrance to them. The pungent sweaty smell in uniforms irritates the child when he goes in a used uniform. If you do not have a softener at home, you can use vinegar as an alternative. It kills the bad odour and promotes a fresh scent in the uniforms.

Bleach the White Ones

Bleaching is not that terrible. Stop believing in any unusual myths regarding blue colour liquid or bleach liquid. However, there is a trick to do so. You have to add a tablespoon of bleach in the warm water and soak your uniforms first for a couple of minutes and then wash them accordingly. During the rinse step of the washing machine, pause it and add the bluish liquid to make the white in the uniforms stand out. Remember to add both the liquids only once a month. Excessive use can ruin uniforms.

Tumble Dry the Uniforms

Never dry them in direct sunlight. Once the wash and rinse are complete, spin the clothes in the washing machine spinner. Tumble dry the uniforms and dry them indoors on the cloth stand. Drying is an important point many people do not bother. If you keep up with softeners and tumble-dries on a weekly basis it adds life to it and the uniform lasts long.
